This hide is square in shape with shorter, tightly curled wool. The leather is free of any major holes and the hide is exceptionally soft.

A naturally tanned sheep hide: Washed with rain water and organic soap and tanned with mimosa bark extract; softened with kitchen oils and egg yolk. Other ingredients in the tanning process include food grade citric acid, salt, and vinegar.

Many hours of careful brushing and cleaning have left the wool soft, but because no harsh chemicals were used, it maintains most of its natural characteristics. Wool may show remnants of its past life, with a bits of hay or seeds. To keep clean, air out your hide outdoors, and if needed, bark tanned leather may be hand washed with warm water and mild soap. Dry on a line and smooth out edges.
